Mint Simple Syrup

An easy homemade Mint Simple Syrup recipe perfect for your favorite drinks and cocktails. A great way to infuse the herb into a beverage for added flavor.

Equipment

  • Small Pot
  • Measuring Cups
  • Fine Mesh Strainer
  • Small Jar

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ⅓ cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 sprigs mint (approximately 20 leaves)

Instructions
 

  • Heat the water and sugar in a small pot over medium high heat.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, add the mint, and let the mint sit in the syrup to infuse, at least one hour.
  • Remove the mint from the syrup, if desired. Store the syrup in a container. Keep the syrup refrigerated up to one month.

Notes

I like to use whole sprigs for ease of straining plus the added flavor from the stems.
