Sparkling Blackberry Bramble Mocktail

This Sparkling Blackberry Bramble Mocktail is a delicious red non-alcoholic drink recipe highlighting fresh fruit. Blackberries with lemon and bubbles, perfect for spring or summer, baby shower, or party.

Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Muddler
  • Jigger or measuring spoons

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup blackberries (about 6 berries) (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 3 ounces club soda as needed or preferred
  • garnishes as desired a lemon twist or lemon slice, fresh blackberries, and/or herbs such as rosemary or mint

Instructions
 

  • In the shaker combine the blackberries, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Muddle the berries into the liquids using a muddler or end of a spoon.
  • Add a scoop of ice and shake until very cold, approximately 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a glass filled with ice.
  • Top off with the club soda.
  • Garnish as desired with berries, lemon, or rosemary sprig.

Notes

A traditional bramble cocktail uses less simple syrup, but we are adding more here to balance out the tartness of the fresh fruit.
 
I like to use Rosemary Simple Syrup to bring the earthy flavor that gin would traditionally bring.
