This a perfect cocktail for a warmer fall day out on the porch. Putting a nice twist on the Cape Cod by adding apple flavor to sweeten and cut that strong cranberry tartness.
What is a Cape Cod?
A Cape Codder is a Vodka Cranberry cocktail with equal parts juice and liquor. Usually served in a rocks glass on ice.
A Cape Cod is named after a east coast town. The area grows a lot of cranberries and this drink is amazing made with fresh juice. The fall twist added is cutting the cranberry tartness with a apple cider.
- Apple Cider
- Cranberry Juice
- Cranberry Liqueur
- Grab a glass and fill with ice.
- Add Vodka, Cranberry juice, Apple Cider, and Cranberry Liqueur.
- Stir and drink.
Traditionally it is served on the rocks but you can strain it into a separate glass if you’d prefer.
I would suggest a non flavored vodka unless it is apple or cranberry. I wouldn’t use a nice vodka as the other ingredients shine more then the liquor.
You can if you’d like but the standard is to stir.
Why is it called Cape Cod drink?
It is named after the the town Cape Cod because they are very well known for their cranberries.
This is a cocktail that the juices shine. You can swap in a Apple or Cinnamon liqueur instead of the cranberry if you want a little more of that apple sweet flavor. You can also splash in flavored vodka’s and I’d highly recommend a Cinnamon to bring in a bit of spice and even more fall flavor.
