Why You Will Love This Recipe

Halloween Candy Corn Jello Shots are a playful and themed twist on traditional Jello shots, perfect for celebrating the spooky season.

These Halloween shots are made to resemble the iconic candy corn treat, using layers of different-colored gelatin.

In this recipe, we cut them into the candy corn shape, but you can also make them layered within little individual plastic cups.

Ingredients

These are the ingredients you need to make the Halloween Jello shots:

  • Lemon Gelatin – to give you yellow
  • Orange Gelatin – to give you orange
  • Unflavored Gelatin Packets – you need this for the white to set. You can find this near the flavored gelatin in the baking section of the store.
  • Vodka – I like to use a citrus vodka to really drive the citrus flavor forward! You could also use a clear rum or tequila if desired instead.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk – This is what we are going to use for the white!
  • Water

See the full recipe card at the bottom of the post for all quantities.

Equipment

You will need the following equipment to make this recipe:

9×11 inch Baking Dish

3 Small Bowls

Spatula or Spoon for Stirring

Measuring Cups

Small Pot

Knife

Cutting Board

The classic way to make Jello shots is in two ounce plastic cups that are easy to use. You could choose to just layer the gelatin in individual cups instead of cutting them into shapes if desired.

Instruction Overview

First make the white gelatin layer and pour it into the baking dish. Chill until set.

Then make the orange layer, and pour on top of the white layer. Chill until set.

Last make the yellow layer, pour on top of the orange, and chill until set.

Once it is set, runs some hot water along the outside of the baking dish to loosen the gelatin.

Put a cutting board on top of the dish and flip the whole thing over. The gelatin should slide out onto the cutting board. If it is still stuck, flip it back into the dish, and use some more warm water where it is stuck.

Cut the gelatin block into strips approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Then take each row of gelatin and cut it into triangles, alternating which side is thicker, as shown below:

Modifications and Substitutions

Any flavor of yellow or orange colored gelatin can be used, however make sure the flavors you pick will work well together!

You could also switch up the colors you use altogether by using other flavors of gelatin.

Easily make this virgin, without alcohol, by swapping out the vodka for more water.

Recipe Tips

Do not increase the alcohol to more than what is listed. If you use more, it will not set properly. You can use less alcohol, or none, if desired and swap it out for the same amount of water.

Easily make these inside small plastic cups instead like a traditional jello shot if desired. You will not have the triangle candy shape, but they will be pre-portioned and ready to go! To do this, simply pour each layer into the cups instead of the baking dish.
