This is the perfect summer day on the patio non-alcoholic. The Cucumber Splash Mocktail brings refreshing flavors of cucumber, and lime with a punch of basil with slightest hint of sweetness from the simple syrup.
What is a Mocktail?
A Mocktail or Non-Alcoholic drink is a drink designed to be similar to cocktails without adding alcohol. Many times they will be the same drink without alcohol and some swap in non-alcohol flavors to mirror them.
This mocktail is like if you mixed a mojito with a gin tonic. It has that lime kick but without the really sweet heaviness of a mojito and the crisp light feel of the gin and tonic. The cucumber and basil are perfectly paired to bring a light crisp but strong flavor to this drink.
- Lime Juice
- Club Soda
- Simple Syrup
- Rocks Glass
- Bar Spoon
- Cutting Board
- Grab Rocks glass put basil in it.
- Add simple syrup, lime juice and muddle
- Put other ingredients and ice in and stir.
This a great change as it brings a little less carbonation with a slight different flavor. This would swing it more to the Gin and Tonic profile.
Can I use citrus juice instead?
You can swap in some other citrus but be cautious as they may overpower or change the flavor pretty significantly.
You can make this change. It will bring out a more mojito style and the mint will probably dominate the cucumber flavor quite a bit more.
The Olive Twist
The Cucumber Splash Mocktail blends its flavors amazingly well. Nothing really shines over another part as the harmonize. Bringing in mint instead of basil would make a mojito lovers dream without the alcohol. Splash in some tonic instead of the club soda and the G&T crowd go crazy.
