Why You Will Love This Cocktail

A spritz cocktail is a classic sparkling wine drink that has an addition of a liqueur and a little club soda.

This version leans into its Italian roots and uses limoncello (a lemon liqueur) with berries for a perfect flavor pairing!

Perfect for spring and summer, you will love how easy and delicious this alcoholic drink is!

Let’s talk about what you need to make this cocktail!

Limoncello – I love using homemade limoncello but it is also easily found at liquor stores.

Strawberry Puree – Click here for our homemade strawberry puree which is very easy to make and tastes the best! You can also use store bought.

Club Soda – adds a touch of lightness to the drink to balance the sweet and sugary flavors

Prosecco – an Italian sparkling wine that is slightly sweet. You can use any sparkling wine as preferred.

Making the Cocktail

This cocktail is great because you can build it straight in a glass!

A wine glass, with or without a stem, is traditional for a spritz cocktail.

Simply fill the glass with ice.

Start by pouring the limoncello (a lemon liquor) and strawberry puree on top of the ice.

Add the prosecco and fill almost to the top.

Then add a splash of the club soda (sparkling water) to top it off. I find that this club soda addition is a great way to balance the sweeter, heavier flavors.

Garnish as desired and serve!
