These are the ingredients in a Cherry Vodka Cocktail:
Vodka – I just use plain vodka here! But you can absolutely use cherry vodka as well.
Cherry Juice – this is where the great cherry flavor comes from! I tried this with fresh muddled cherries and it was more complicated without any taste benefit
Lemon Juice – this will brighten the flavors
Fresh Mint – we are not using so much mint that it will taste like it, such as a mojito. We are only using a little mint to add a touch of freshness and brightness to the drink! Basil would also be a fun spin!
Brandied Cherries – optional, but I LOVE using these as a garnish! They tell you what is in the drink, look beautiful, and taste great!
If you want to lighten it up or add some bubbles, you could top the cocktail with club soda, tonic water, or lemon lime soda as desired.

I found that the muddled cherries added complexity to the drink without enough benefit to make it worth it. But you can choose to muddle and strain cherries if desired instead.

Ingredients
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1 ½ ounces cherry juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 4 mint leaves
- brandied cherries for garnish, optional
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker or large glass, muddle the mint and lemon juice together.
- Add the cherry juice, vodka, and a scoop of ice. Shake until very cold, approximately 30 seconds.
- Fill your cocktail glass with ice.
- Strain the cherry cocktail over the ice.
- Garnish with brandied cherries and/or mint sprig if desired. Serve.
